"Despicable Cruelty! BP "Burning Sea Turtles Alive"

A rare and endangered species of sea turtle is being burned alive in BP's controlled burns of the oil swirling around the Gulf of Mexico, and a boat captain tasked with saving them says the company has blocked rescue efforts.

Mike Ellis, a boat captain involved in a three-week effort to rescue as many sea turtles from unfolding disaster as possible, says BP effectively shut down the operation by preventing boats from coming out to rescue the turtles.

"They ran us out of there and then they shut us down, they would not let us get back in there," Ellis said in an interview with conservation biologist Catherine Craig.

Part of BP's efforts to contain the oil spill are controlled burns. Fire-resistant booms are used to corral an area of oil, then the area within the boom is lit on fire, burning off the oil and whatever marine life may have been inside.

"Once the turtles get in there they can't get out," Ellis said.

Dr. Brian Stacey of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration told NPR last week that, although there are five different species of sea turtle in the Gulf of Mexico, the majority of the ones found affected by the oil spill are Kemp's Ridleys, "the rarest of them all."

Ellis confirmed that he's mostly been seeing Kemp's Ridleys.

Mike Michael at Gather.com reports that Kemp's Ridleys are listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. Harming or killing one "carries stiff fines and civil penalties, for each violation. Criminal penalties include possible prison time and fines from $25,000-$50,000."

Michael suggests that, given the size of the fines BP could face as a result of the turtle deaths, the company may be happy to let turtles burn, as it would make it impossible to calculate exactly how many turtles died. He notes that the bodies of dead animals are being kept as evidence to determine how much in fines BP will be liable for.

"Is BP destroying evidence to keep their liability down?" he asks. "Is anyone going to stop them?"

Asked if he had suffered health problems as a result of being exposed to the chemicals swirling around the Gulf, boat captain Ellis said he had been suffering from "pretty wicked headaches," but said he didn't know "if that was just from seeing everything you know just destroyed and just disgusting."

Self Publishing Notes For Beginners

Here's a few notes from the field, your early steps on the yellow brick road to self publishing on line.  It's simple, not to be confused with easy.  Please know that the journey is worth the drama.


HOW TO CREATE YOUR BOOK?:


Kathleen Gage has a great course on how to create a money making product. I recommend you take her class.  It's one of the few paid steps you will read me recommend in this process.


How you create your book is basically up to you. A basic outline I use for folks with research material is to take their papers and organize them so that they tell the story that leads to your conclusion.  Step away for a few days.  Come back and write an outline of your story, either on a computer or by hand. 



An old school set of computer training notes on how to use a computer are posted at www.computerhealth.org/htc, lessons 3-5 are on word processing & desk top publishing basics.  The program has been updated since these notes, but the basics are the same.  


The book publishing process is in essence you write and edit your book (or pay someone to to that for you), then make (print) a .pdf file (which is the file professional printers use to make books) of your interior. Your cover can either be made by you or use one of the online tools to build it.  Two files (cover and interior) equal one book. Printer specifications differ and they tell you about page and file size. Upload to an on demand printer and sell your books.  You can also sell cheaper ebook editions on various sites.


In most cases, setting up accounts or subscribing to a newsletter are free. Only a few of the services and sites listed come with minimal charge, especially considering the value for the dollar. This process can be done with no money down, then invest profits in sales and marketing. Choose based on your needs and budget.


Set up your accounts, follow instructions and you're on your way.  This list is limited to my experience and intended as a starting point. Use your search engines to find companies that best suit your needs.  I'll update later this spring to add more services, teachers and opportunities to promote your work. Search the web for more information on things like free press release services.  Also consider your own show on www.ustream.tv 


There are paid services on some of these sites, like CreateSpace, that offers professional editing, video making, etc. so if you have the funds go for it.  Otherwise, start with the free account and build from there.


Reorganize the information to fit in the story outline.


Edit, Edit, Edit. Add images if any. Proof, Proof, Proof. Make a .pdf and upload to www.createspace.com account.  Below are the details for after you've made your final .pdf, as per size specifications found at createspace.

Following these post-publication investigations, Waters read into the Congressional Record a memorandum of understanding in which former President Ronald Reagan's CIA director rejected any duty by the CIA to report illegal narcotics trafficking to the Department of Justice.

Kenneth Winston Starr (born July 21, 1946) is an American lawyer, a former federal Court of Appeals judge and Solicitor General who is most notable for his tenure as Independent Counsel while Bill Clinton was U. S. President. Starr was initially appointed to investigate the suicide death of deputy White House counsel Vince Foster and the Whitewater real estate investments of Bill Clinton. The three-judge panel charged with administering the Independent Counsel Act later expanded the inquiry into numerous areas including an extramarital affair that Bill Clinton had with Monica Lewinsky. After several years of investigation Starr filed the Starr Report which alleged that Bill Clinton had lied about existence of the affair during a sworn deposition. The allegation opened the door for the impeachment of Bill Clinton and the five-year suspension of Clinton's law license.

In 2009, he served as lead counsel defending California's Proposition 8 which banned same sex marriages in California.

Starr currently serves as the dean of Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California.

In February 2010, Starr was named 14th president of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, to assume the role in June 2010. Starr, a member of the University Church of Christ in Malibu, California, announced that on his transition to Baylor he will affiliate with a Baptist congregation in Waco.

Seymour (Sy) Myron Hersh (born April 8, 1937) is a United States Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist and author based in Washington, D.C. He is a regular contributor to The New Yorker magazine on military and security matters.

His work first gained worldwide recognition in 1969 for exposing the My Lai Massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War, for which he received the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting. The View Is Told Of 9/11, Again - Where's The Journalism?

 

Thank you Governor Jesse Ventura for having the courage to tell the truth once again.  When Rosie O'Donnell tried to talk about 9/11 as an inside job on The View, she was fired.

I can't believe The View, not even Whoopie Goldberg, can hear the truth about 9/11 and not be jumping up and down calling for a full, public investigation.

What happened to journalism in America?  How is it that journalist Barbara Walters hears this and her response is about the charges rather than a demand for the evidence to be reviewed on her show?  What's it going to take before she gets a clue about what really happened?  I pray she reaches beyond the shocking nature of the charges that are even stronger now as more and more evidence is revealed, and goes back to her investigative roots so she can get to the heart of the story.

The American people have been had, took and bamboozled by our government on 9/11 and many other issues.

Where are our journalists demands of evidence?  Like the military on stand down or the main air traffic controllers out of the room when the planes were flying down the Hudson? Why would the "terrorists" fly past a nuclear power plant that could have taken out a large part of the north east to coordinate flying into the much smaller WTC Tower?

In case our journalism community missed it, please hear the Eisenhower speech about beware of the industrial/military complex.

The industrial/military (and he should have added congressional) complex's demands for money in support of war has cost our society greatly. "It's out of hand."

I urge all journalists to take some time from your busy schedules and look at this story of 9/11 as an inside job deeply. Pay attention to Hunter S. Thompson 9:07-13:05 in Loose Change 2nd Edition, who advises us to look at who stands to benefit, who has opportunity, motive, equipment and will.

In addition to this matter of "war for extreme profit" being about the over 3,000 souls (as we continue to count the folks who have, are or will die from World Trade Center Illness), it's also about the billions of people at risk from our government's evil policies ranging from food to war. From acceptable levels of toxic chemicals in the food, water and air to keeping up the motivation to be at war with folks who had nothing to do with 9/11, the evil must be exposed to the light of truth.  Our entire survival, i.e. climate change, depends on the truth setting us free.

I hold this truth to be self evident.  9/11 is still an inside job.

Please demand a complete, full and public investigation into the industrial/military/congressional complex.  Clean out the corruption. Use hemp tax money to pay for the process. 

Restore wisdom to government.  Do it now!!!

BOMBING WAS A COVER FOR A MISSION!!Is there an "Alien Base" on the Moon? More and more people are coming forward with stories that might prove this is true. Rumors say that there is an Alien Moon Base on the far side of the moon, the side we never see from Earth.
Did you ever wonder why the Moon landings stopped and why we have not tried to build a Moon Base? It does seem like a better and easier idea than a floating space station with no access to any raw materials or supplies? According to the NASA Astronaut Neil Armstrong the aliens have a base on the Moon and told us in no uncertain terms to get off and stay off the Moon!

Buzz AldrinAccording to hitherto unconfirmed reports, both Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin saw UFOs shortly after their historic landing on the Moon in Apollo 11 on 21 July 1969. I remember hearing one of the astronauts refer to a "light" in or on a carter during the television transmission, followed by a request from mission control for further information. Nothing more was heard.
According to a former NASA employee Otto Binder, unnamed radio hams with their own VHF receiving facilities that bypassed NASA's broadcasting outlets picked up the following exchange:
NASA: What's there? Mission Control calling Apollo 11...
Apollo: These "Babies" are huge, Sir! Enormous! OH MY GOD! You wouldn't believe it! I'm telling you there are other spacecraft out there, lined up on the far side of the crater edge! They're on the Moon watching us!
Maurice Chatelain In 1979, Maurice Chatelain, former chief of NASA Communications Systems confirmed that Armstrong had indeed reported seeing two UFOs on the rim of a crater. "The encounter was common knowledge in NASA," he revealed, "but nobody has talked about it until now."
Soviet scientists were allegedly the first to confirm the incident. "According to our information, the encounter was reported immediately after the landing of the module," said Dr. Vladimir Azhazha, a physicist and Professor of Mathematics at Moscow University. "Neil Armstrong relayed the message to Mission Control that two large, mysterious objects were watching them after having landed near the moon module. But his message was never heard by the public-because NASA censored it. "
According to another Soviet scientist, Dr. Aleksandr Kazantsev, Buzz Aldrin took color movie film of the UFOs from inside the module, and continued filming them after he and Armstrong went outside. Dr. Azhazha claims that the UFOs departed minutes after the astronauts came out on to the lunar surface.
Maurice Chatelain also confirmed that Apollo 11's radio transmissions were interrupted on several occasions in order to hide the news from the public. Before dismissing Chatelain's sensational claims, it is worth noting his impressive background in the aerospace industry and space program. His first job after moving from France was as an electronics engineer with Convair, specializing in telecommunications, telemetry, and radar. In 1959 he was in charge of an electromagnetic research group, developing new radar and telecommunications systems for Ryan. One of his eleven patents was an automatic flights to the Moon. Later, at North American Aviation, Chatelain was offered the job of designing and building the Apollo communications and data-processing systems.
Chatelain claims that "all Apollo and Gemini flights were followed, both at a distance and sometimes also quite closely, by space vehicles of extraterrestrial origin-flying saucers, or UFOs, if you want to call them by that name. Every time it occurred, the astronauts informed Mission Control, who then ordered absolute silence." He goes on to say:
"I think that Walter Schirra aboard Mercury 8 was the first of the astronauts to use the code name 'Santa Claus' to indicate the presence of flying saucers next to space capsules. However, his announcements were barely noticed by the general public.
It was a little different when James Lovell on board the Apollo 8 command module came out from behind the moon and said for everybody to hear:
'PLEASE BE INFORMED THAT THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS.'
Even though this happened on Christmas Day 1968, many people sensed a hidden meaning in those words."

Genetically Modified Soy and Me

I'm lucky.  Soy foods made me sick early in the process of shifting from meat/fish to vegetarian.  It took me a few months to figure out what the problem was, trial and error.  It manifested as what felt like my already weak thyroid died.  I feel much healthier without soy than with. Some folks just have an allergy to soy and I'm on that list. 

Turns out folk like me are canaries in the coal mines.

Monsanto controls 91% of the soy market and holds patents on the genetically modified seeds.

“The best available evidence, accumulated over the last 25 years, indicates soy's ability to lower cholesterol. Studies show that eating as little as 47g (about 1.5 oz.) of soy can lower total cholesterol levels an average of 9% and low density lipoprotein (LDL) 13%. A 1% drop in total cholesterol translates into a 2% drop in the risk of developing heart disease. According to the American Heart Association, recent studies suggest that the isoflavones (also referred to as phytoestrogens) present in soybeans may contribute to cholesterol lowering and other positive cardiovascular effects. For example, incidence of certain chronic heart conditions and diseases are significantly lower in populations, such as the Japanese, that consume large quantities of foods known to contain isoflavones.”

Premature development of girls has been linked to the use of soy formula, as has the underdevelopment of males. Infant soy formula has been linked to autoimmune thyroid disease.

Soy is linked to infertility, breast cancer, hypothyroidism, thyroid cancer, and many other disorders.”

It turns out that the damage done to DNA due to the process of creating a genetically modified organism is far more extensive than previously thought.[1] GM crops routinely create unintended proteins, alter existing protein levels or even change the components and shape of the protein that is created by the inserted gene. Kirk’s (Azevedo - whistleblower) concerns about a GM crop producing a harmful misfolded protein remain well-founded, and have been echoed by scientists as one of the many possible dangers that are not being evaluated by the biotech industry’s superficial safety assessments.


GM cotton has provided ample reports of unpredicted side-effects. In April 2006, more than 70 Indian shepherds reported that 25% of their herds died within 5-7 days of continuous grazing on Bt cotton plants.[2] Hundreds of Indian agricultural laborers reported allergic reactions from Bt cotton. Some cotton harvesters have been hospitalized and many laborers in cotton gin factories take antihistamines each day before work.[3]”

Cinderella's Dark Side


The propaganda that has created the soy sales miracle is all the more remarkable because, only a few decades ago, the soybean was considered unfit to eat - even in Asia. During the Chou Dynasty (1134-246 BC) the soybean was designated one of the five sacred grains, along with barley, wheat, millet and rice.


However, the pictograph for the soybean, which dates from earlier times, indicates that it was not first used as a food; for whereas the pictographs for the other four grains show the seed and stem structure of the plant, the pictograph for the soybean emphasizes the root structure. Agricultural literature of the period speaks frequently of the soybean and its use in crop rotation. Apparently the soy plant was initially used as a method of fixing nitrogen."

Fixing the problem requires an honesty vs. greed based strategy to restore nature, if possible. The FDA should restore the family farm with natural, NON GENETICALLY MODIFIED HEMP SEEDS and use the hemp plant to help us solve our problems now.

Cell Phones & Wi-Fi Dangers Are Real

Talk about the need for change. By rubberstamping wireless technology without adequate testing, we have been legislated to death, officially.

Superstar attorney Johnnie Cochran’s doctor, Dr. Keith Black, said publically that he believes Cochran's death was caused by his cell phone use in an interview with CNN in 2005 as reported on EMF Facts:

"BLACK: My own belief is that there probably is a correlation between the use of cell phones and brain cancer, even though there’s no scientific proof.
GUPTA: Dr. Black, who’s the head of neurosurgery at Cedar Sinai Medical Center, believes one day science will catch up to what he’s already seeing with his own patients.
BLACK: We know that people that use cell phones a lot also complain of headaches, difficulty with concentration, with memory. You know, this is a microwave antenna, so you’re essentially cooking the brain when you hold the receiver right next to your brain."

The City of San Francisco asked a PhD. in Canada for the real deal regarding the health risks associated with cell phones and Wi-Fi. The report is dated May 29, 2007.

Unlike the vast majority of available research on the subject of cancer and wireless technology, it was not financed and approved by the wireless technology industry.

12. SUMMARY

Laboratory studies of radio frequency radiation as well as epidemiological studies of people who live near cell phone antennas and/or use wireless technology indicate adverse biological effects.
These effects include increase in cancers, DNA breaks, impaired reproduction, increased
permeability of the blood-brain barrier, altered calcium flux, changes in enzyme activity,
neurological disorders, altered brainwave activity, insomnia, decreased memory, inattention,
slower reaction time, tinnitus, dizziness, skin disorders, headaches, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, respiratory problems and arrhythmia. A growing population is becoming sensitive to
electromagnetic energy and some of these people are affected by radio frequency radiation and are unable to live near antennas. Animals that live near cell phone and broadcast antennas are also affected by RF radiation, which manifests itself in reproductive impairment and behavioral abnormalities.

The cancers and symptoms of EHS occur at levels well below the FCC guidelines for radio
frequency radiation. These guidelines are based on short-term (6-minute) thermal effects and are inadequate to protect the population from long-term, non-thermal exposure. The FCC guidelines conform to ICNIRP guidelines (15) but are much higher (i.e. less protective) than guidelines in other countries.

Metal objects such as wiring in the home, fences, poles, roofs, filing cabinets can redirect RFR and create hot spots or interfere with reception. For this reason calculations of exposure may not be as reliable as actually measurements. Appeals and resolutions from physicians and scientist request governments to provide the strictest guidelines for RF exposure and address the growing number of people developing a sensitivity to this form of energy.

13. RECOMMENDATION

The Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco should adopt the
precautionary principle in their decision regarding the Earthlink Wi-Fi Network. The scientific
evidence indicates that exposure to radio frequency radiation near cell phone antennas and in laboratory studies is associated with and/or causes adverse biological and health effects at levels well below federal guidelines and at levels to which people who use wireless computers are likely to be exposed. Policy makers and the public should heed the warning that this form of energy, at current exposures, is far from benign and should act accordingly to protect human health and the environment.

Since cumulative radio frequency exposures are unknown from currently operating antennas and towers, a baseline analysis is important to determine what these current exposure conditions are at present. This should be done prior to approval of a Wi-Fi system. An exposure assessment should be done in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines to determine that there are no health risks.

Blanketing San Francisco with yet another source of radio frequency radiation in addition to the existing cell phone, broadcast, and essential police, fire, ambulance communication antennas is likely to result in a growing number of people becoming ill.

Those who have to make decisions about where antennas should be placed are seldom provided with all the facts. Often they are given conflicting information and side with the industry because they don’t want to stand in the way of “progress.” The oath of office that most public officials take requires protecting public health and may require swimming against the tide in order to do what is right.

The Board of Supervisors will be shown studies that document no adverse effects of this
technology and they will be told the scientific evidence in contradictory and inconclusive. The underlying assumption is that until science can prove this form of energy is harmful, until scientists understand the mechanisms involved, until every study shows the same thing, we should allow human exposure. That approach could be tantamount to the costly history lesson of smoking and lung cancer; asbestos exposure and mesothelioma; DDT and loss of bird populations.

Science does not have all the answers and the understanding of mechanism is incomplete.
However, according to the Precautionary Principle “threats of serious or irreversible damage” is all that is needed to act.
